NBA Hall of Fame coach and former Knick Phil Jackson — who also led the Albany
Patroons to the 1984 CBA title and was later dubbed the “Zen Master” of basketball.
He is endorsing James Coyne in the crowded 109th Assembly District primary,
according to a press release from Coyne’s campaign. He has led teams —
including the Michael Jordan-led Bulls and the Kobe Bryant-led Lakers — to 11 NBA
titles. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass.

Michael "Air" Jordan is the greatest player ever for many reasons, but one of
my favorite reasons is that he averaged 21.2 points per game in the last 30 games of
the 2002-03 season. In his last 30 games Jordan was 40 years old. He became
the only 40 year old to ever score over 20 points per game and the only 40 year old to
ever score 40 or more points in a game. He was the oldest NBA
MVP ever at age 35 and he
was the oldest scoring champion ever at age 35, and he was the oldest player to ever
score 50 or more points in a game at age 38 in his first season with the Wiz.
But these are the best 10 games of the 30 games that Jordan played
at over age 40.

Six games left in the career of the guy who first played an NBA in
October 1984. It was 2003 and MJ was still the greatest player ever, and in 2011 he
still is. In this game Jordan amassed 25 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists and
two steals vs Paul Pierce and the Celtics. Jordan played an astonishing 47 minutes in
this game, which seems like senior abuse to me. In this
big win MJ scorched the Rockets for 35 points, and he was 40 years old, and a
shooting guard, which is massively sick.

Too bad it was a year before LeBron came, cuz Jordan would'a schooled
him too. Instead he led the Wiz to a win vs the Cavs. He always has schooled
the Cavs. MJ, at age 40, and in his fifth to last game ever scored 26 points
in 46 minutes and he added 10 rebounds and three assists but he was particularly
dominant defensively as the Cavs had no way to get past the old man who had a blocked
shot and three steals. Ah Madison Square Garden, and MJ at age 40 equals sickness
from the GOAT. Jordan scored 39 points added eight rebounds, one assist and one steal.
He made 13/22 from the field and 13/15 from the line. Michael Jordan was born on
Brooklyn you know.

Jordan grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina, and entered the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1981. As a freshman, he made the winning basket
against Georgetown in the 1982 national championship game. Jordan was
named College Player of the Year in both his sophomore and junior years, leaving
North Carolina after his junior year. He led the U.S. basketball team to
Olympic gold medals in 1984 in Los Angeles and in 1992 in Barcelona, Spain.
The players who competed in the latter Games became known as the Dream Team.

Michael Jeffrey Jordan is the greatest basketball player ever, not just because he
NEVER LOST once in the Finals, was a six time champion and six time Finals MVP or
that he led the NBA in scoring 10 times or finished his ENTIRE
CAREER ,which went from 1984 to 2003, with the highest scoring average ever at
30.1 ppg for his career. He is not just the greatest because
he has the highest playoff scoring average ever and the record for most points ever
in a playoff game with 63, or not only because he led the NBA
in steals three times and was the Defensive Player of the Year once
or that he has blocked more shots than any guard in NBA history
or that he is a five time NBA MVP.

He is the greatest because he did this at age 40, which is eight years older than Kobe
Bryant is now, and Shaq, who is now 38 is down to nine points per game or
Duncan who is only 35. Kareem played at over 40 but not like this and Cousy tried,
to no avail. Malone and Stockton played at over 4o but neither could muster this
type of production. In the end the argument is a joke seeing what MJ did at 40. No
one will ever top you Mike, if there was we'd know it, but no one is this
good. Thanks for everything GOAT, I mean Mike.

After the 2002–03 season, Jordan announced his final retirement. He ended his career
with 32,292 total points and a 30.1-points-per-game average, which was the best in
league history at that time, as well as 2,514 steals, then the second most ever. In 2006
Jordan became minority owner and general manager of the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats
(now known as the Charlotte Hornets). He bought a controlling interest in the team
in 2010 and became the first former NBA player to become a majority owner of one of the
league’s franchises. Jordan sold his share in 2023.

Indeed, Jordan’s UNC teammates can confirm that the freshman player worked
intensely to get better and better on the court, including continuing to practice
after the rest of his teammates were ready to head home, according to former
UNC teammate James Worthy. “After about 2.5 hours of hard practice, I’m
walking off the floor, like, drenched [in] sweat, tired. And, here comes Michael
pushing me back on the floor, wanting to play a little one-on-one, wanting to see
where his game was,” says Worthy of Jordan. It’s no coincidence that Jordan would
challenge Worthy, specifically, to extra work on the court. A junior when Jordan was
a freshman, Worthy was UNC’s best player in 1982 and would help lead the team to
a national championship on his way to becoming the first overall pick of
the 1982 NBA Draft.

Michael Jordan added the title of grandpa to the list of those he
bore when his eldest child and daughter welcomed her first kid with her fiancé
Rakeem Christmas. The two are proud, doting parents to the little
one and have demonstrated their love for him more than once. The proud athlete
enjoys spending a lot of time with his child, and he sometimes lets his
fans see what those moments are like.
